DESCRIPTION

Seeing hundreds of species of birds is an incredible show to see, along with alligators, marsh dears and capybaras, all of them being nearly extinct species. The colors of the sky give a final touch to the enchantment of the place.
Being a guest in Rincon del Socorro is a way of being a part of the ambitious project that the CONSERVATION LAND TRUST has proposed and carries through with undeniable success.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Posadas, Corrientes OR Resistencia airport + Private transfer to Estancia - Iberá
  • Day 2: Iberá Wetlands – Boat trip to the Wetlands.
  • Day 3: Iberá Wetlands – Savanna, Wetlands, "Acacias" woodlands & Atlantic Rain Forest.
  • Day 4: Departure to Posadas, Corrientes OR Resistencia airport - Private transfer
Day 1: Arrival in Posadas, Corrientes OR Resistencia airport + Private transfer to Estancia - Iberá
Upon arrival in the airport, you will be received and transfer to the Estancia.
On arrival, we spend the day birding around the lodge where much to the surprise of our birders, the nearly extinct yellow cardinal can be seen hopping around in the lettuces in our organic gardens!
Day 2: Iberá Wetlands – Boat trip to the Wetlands.
After breakfast we depart the estancia and drive towards the Laguna Iberá. Birdwatching and photograph opportunities will oblige for many stops on the road. In the lake, Papyrus and cattalist, water lilies & water hyacinths host a number of reptiles, capybaras (the world’s largest rodent), marsh deers, yellow anaconda and two species of caiman. Return to the lodge for dinner. Night safaris after dinner looking for owls & the Scissor- tail nightjar.
Day 3: Iberá Wetlands – Savanna, Wetlands, "Acacias" woodlands & Atlantic Rain Forest.
Full day to explore Rincon del Socorro, 12.000 hectares Wildlife Reserve. In our 4 habitats we will stand high chances of observing localized and threatened species including Ochre-breasted Pippet, Black -and -White Mojita, Greater Rhea and again the Strange Tail Tyrant and Yellow-Billed Cardinal.
Riding and biking trips can be organized at the estancia, ideal way to explore the woods and savannas. Return for drinks & sundowners at the lodge.
Day 4: Departure to Posadas, Corrientes OR Resistencia airport - Private transfer
Before Breakfast, only meters away from the lodge, we have a wonderful man made lake, used in the days of cattle ranching for watering cattle, great fun is to enjoy watching and listening to the cackle of the large community of white egrets getting ready to set off on their commute to the wetlands, for their daily feasts.
Mid-morning check out. And private transfer to the airport to continue with your itinerary.
**IMPORTANT NOTE: The order of the activities described above can be changed, since each of them depends on weather conditions. **

TESTIMONIALS

Elmira College group
"The trip was excellent and Eureka Travel did an excellent job matching the itinerary and activities to our interests.

The most enjoyable part of the trip were the two days in the Amazon. It is a remarkable experience, unlike any other.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?
More time in the Amazon, at a remoter lodge with more 'authentic' (less touristy) activities. Less time in Rio and Manaus (one day is more than enough in Manaus), more structured and less free days.Include a candomble ceremony."

PERU Trip Was EXCELLENT, EUREKA TRAVEL Made Sure Of This!
My friend James and I used Eureka Travel for our Peru adventure, and man, am I glad we did. Analia and her team are extremely resourceful, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. They created an extremely easy, thorough Itinerary. Eureka was able to provide us with many options. For example, initially we wanted to go to Bolivia in addition to Peru. Eureka gave us the best options: fly into this city, take the train here, then go into this country, etc. Everything was so direct and easy to communicate. They know South America so well that any question we had, they had the answer for us, or would always find it for us. We ended up going to Lima, Cuzco (Cusco), Machu Picchu and Iquitos. Eureka made it all very simple and easy for us. I was so glad, for example, that they planned out for us to acclimate to the high altitude of Cuzco, by making sure we had four to five hours to rest. Even though we only did a tour of the Spanish Colonial Churches, we needed the rest! I would definitely use them again and recommend Eureka to all my friends and family.

Honeymoon to Brazil
We had a fantastic honeymoon to Brazil and we owe it all to Analia at Eureka Travel. She worked with us every step of the way from the initial planning stage to last minute changes to our tour itinerary while we were in Brazil. She recommended the best places to stay, the most important things to see and helped us to stay within our budget. One of our favorite parts of the trip was walking along the beach-side rode in Rio starting at Copacabana passing through Ipanema, and Leblon and watching all the Cariocas enjoy their Sunday strolling along the beach, playing volleyball and soccer and spending time in the Sun. Another was the unbelievable sensation of standing at the top of the Devil\'s Throat in Iguazu with the ground shaking and the mist soaking through our coats- it felt as through we were at the end of the earth... Analia helped provide insight not just as a travel agent but as a South American who has traveled extensively in the countries we were visiting and personally experienced the tours she was recommending. She helped us decide where to go, where to stay, and how best to spend our time so that we would enjoy every moment. We highly recommend Analia for your South American travel! We had a wonderful time and we can\'t wait to go back to Brazil!!!!
